Letter from the President

08/17/2021 7:30 AM | Sheila Honey (Administrator)

Hi Folks,

I’m writing to you as President of our club because there is an issue that some of you will be voting on, as residents of SaddleBrooke of HOA #2, that might have an impact on not only our club, but every one of the 100 or so clubs in SaddleBrooke. I’m referring to the Reciprocal Use Agreement (RUA) that the HOA’s have hammered out, and which must be voted on by some members by September 8. 2021. As I understand it, HOA #1 residents do not need to vote on the RUA because their Board has already approved it, but the HOA #2 Board has put it to a vote of their membership.

We are currently a club of 106 members, and while I don’t know how many reside in HOA#1 or in HOA#2, I would guess that it is probably pretty evenly split between the two HOA’s. As some of you may be aware, when the SaddleBrooke Ranch and SaddleBrooke split a couple years ago, we were forced to remove several members who lived at SaddleBrooke Ranch from our membership. That was indeed a sad day, because these people were not only contributors to our club, but they were friends too.

I hope that no matter how the vote on the RUA goes, cooler heads will prevail when it comes to how that might impact club membership. I would hate to lose my friends from HOA #1 from our club, and I would guess my HOA#1 friends feel the same way about our HOA #2 members.

Of course there is no way of knowing what might happen to club memberships if the new proposed RUA is not accepted by the HOA #2 membership, and I don’t want to speculate. I also don’t want to recommend voting either way. But I would be remiss in my position of President of this Club if I did not point out a possible “worst case” scenario.

Thanks for your attention to this matter.
