It's time for the Summer Challenges.

Challenge 1 Photograph July 4th Fireworks Displays

Photograph the 4th of July fireworks wherever you are.

Photographing fireworks can be challenging. Here is a link to a useful article on tips and tricks on photographing fireworks. https://digital-photography-school.com/15-tips-for-successful-fireworks-photography/. You will find many more articles with a Google search, but most are variations of the information in this piece.

If fireworks are held in SaddleBrooke, I've had great success climbing the hill that runs along Jade Crest Drive. It can be slippery, so you have to be very, very careful. Also take a flashlight as you'll want it to get back down after the show. BTW, you won't be able to park on Howland's Highway as that is closed during the fireworks.

The end of Copper Ridge Court is also a great location, but you must get there early for a prime spot to set up your tripod. That circle fills up with cars, carts and people.

If you have a favorite spot please share with us.

Please "register" if you intend to photograph fireworks so we can get an idea of how many of us will be submitting photos.

Your photographs can be submitted for the May 2024 field trip meeting.
