The Mother of All Safaris

Bob and Prudy Bowers and their friend Rick (a birding guide who lives in Catalina) planned a trip to Southern Africa that started small, but grew into an eleven week adventure that crisscrossed the continent looking for birds, mammals and reptiles. 

This slideshow features many of the best critters they found in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and a parking lot in Mozambique. If you think you have to join an expensive African tour to see the big five or 500 bird species, don't miss this.
