Bird Photography Field Trip

We will plan to leave Saddlebrooke at 8 AM and drive to Tucson Audubon's Paton Center for Hummingbirds in Patagonia, a drive of about 90 minutes.  "Paton's" always has a wide variety of birds, and is well set up for bird viewing and photography.  Likely "target" birds include Inca Dove, Violet-crowned Hummingbird, White-breasted Nuthatch, Canyon and Green-tailed Towhee, Northern Cardinal and Pyrrhuloxia.  https://tucsonaudubon.org/paton-center/

After a few hours at Paton's we will head to the Copper Brothel Brewery in Sonoita for lunch, followed by a very scenic drive through the Box Canyon to the Santa Rita Lodge in Madera Canyon.  Santa Rita Lodge has feeders which attract higher elevation birds very different from Paton's, including Wild Turkey, Rivoli's Hummingbird, Acorn and Arizona Woodpeckers, Dark-eyed and Yellow-eyed Junco, Hepatic Tanager, and Hermit Thrush. https://www.santaritalodge.com/

And we could try to find and photograph an Elegant Trogon if one has been reported recently.

The drive back to Saddlebrooke will take about 90 minutes so we plan leave Madera Canyon around 4 PM to arrive back around 5:30 PM.  We will limit the number of photographers to around ten.  Let me know if you are interested, and/or have questions.
