    Please select your best photos, up to a maximum of 5 for each field trip from the 2023-2024 season.

    Deadline:

    Our Field Trip Presentation will be May 11, 2024. Since it takes a while for Sharon to get them all set up, please submit your pictures by no later than April 28, 2024.

    No Resizing Required:

    You do not need to resize your images. Sharon will resize them after she receives them.

    For submitting your best of show images.

    • 1)   Do any corrections or refinements to your images and store them in your usual manner.
    • 2)   Feel free to crop your image to any format, but downsizing is not required.
    • 3)  These are the field trips whose photos can be included: Tombstone, Picacho Peak Wildflowers, Monsoons, Fireworks, Tubac and Tumcacori, Pima Air & Space, Sonoran Glass Studio, Barrios, San Manuel Milky Way, Tucson Botanical Gardens, and Bird Photography.
    • 4)   NAMING IS CRITICAL - Name your files as follows:
    • NAMING CONVENTION:  (First Name) (Last Name) - (Name of Field Trip) - (Number)

    ****Example:                Susan Schwartz – Barrios 1 – Red_Door.jpg

    ***JPG’s only, no Raw Files.

    • 5)  Upload your images to the Field Trip Folder for 2024:
    • a)       In your browser, go to this SmugMug link:
    • Click to upload photos to SmugMug.
    • b)      Drag and drop your image in the box at the center of the screen
    • c)       Leave the browser open until you see that all of your images have uploaded.
    • d)      (If you find that your images are uploading too slowly, you may choose to downsize them, but not smaller than 1 mb. Otherwise please leave them full resolution).

    ***** NO EMAIL SUBMISSIONS - Since many email servers are unable to handle the larger images (including Sharon's) you will be uploading your images to the share folder on Smugmug

    • 6)      Sharon will  send  you  a  confirmation  that  your  images  have  been  received  within  48  hours.  If  you  don’t get a confirmation, it means that she doesn't have the images.

    Time lapse / Videos   

    In this assignment take many photos over time and put them in a video to show fast moving clouds, or flowers blooming or stars circling the sky.  You can make a slow motion video of fast moving objects too.  Or videos of action that tells the story better than just a few pictures.

    Still Lifes / Light Painting

    Try your hand at taking photos in a darkened room with a small light source to illuminate your scene.  Long exposures on a tripod and careful focusing will be essential to capture what the eye cannot.
